A Prima Page

By Alicia.R. | August 31, 2010

I created this page using the August BAP over at the Prima Blog as inspiration.  I don’t know if you can see where it inspired my design, but that is where I started.  Anyway here it is and I must say it came together really quickly.  Billie was over trying to finish one of her class designs and we were just chatting away as I was wacking this together.  I must say I am happy with the resulting page.

Look Mum a Bug

By Alicia.R. | August 28, 2010

Noah found this bug earlier today on his way to Kinder Gym, actually it was on the outside wall of my shop.  He “NEEDED” me to take a picture of the pretty bug.  “But you can’t touch…cause it might bite you!”

A Boy and His Snake

By Alicia.R. | August 27, 2010

Noah has a very active imagination.  He comes up with some wild ideas.  This was tonights game…being a snake charmer with safety glasses so they can’t bite you!

2010 Eisteddfod

By Alicia.R. | August 26, 2010

Naomi-Jon performed her first Eisteddfod Solo on the Clarinet today and did extremely well.  Quentin and I were nervous and proud enough, but you should have seen Nana (Quentin’s Mum) who just happens to also be the Music Teacher in this instance.  She was in the 2010 Beginners Woodwind section and got 82 points out of a possible 100.  The adjudicator was firm, fair and very thorough.  Naomi-Jon didn’t get a place, but was only 6 points behind the girl who got first.  We don’t care where she placed as she is a winner and a superstar to us.  We are back there again tomorrow with her for the School Beginner Concert Band section.

UPDATED TO ADD: The Beginner Band came third in their section and played absolutely beautifully.  We are so proud of our beautiful musicians.

Also, Noah did very well at the Doctors today and we have a lot of work to do, but he is getting the help he needs now and much quicker than we expected.  Thank you to everyone who has been wishing him well on his new path.

WOYWW

By Alicia.R. | August 25, 2010

Well after three or is it four weeks of being totally snowed under and not even noticing the Wednesdays flying by I am here with a pic from my Studio…No it isn’t my desk as it is still pristine after Sundays clean-up, even with some heavy creating on Monday I cleaned up all the mess and put it all back how it should be.  So this is a pic of the bookcase/shelving unit that resides directly behind where I sit.  I have organised my supplies into plastic containers (Bunnings for Aussie girls…Hardware Store for the rest of the world) and labeled them accordingly.  The purple boxes are from Papermania and are 13″x13″, which is great for papers with the barcode strip that don’t fit into nearly every other available storage option.  I have an empty spot because my blank cards and envelopes collection out-grew its home and now lives in a much bigger box nearby on a hairdressers or bathroom type trolley.  I am yet to work out what will take it’s place, although I am in no hurry to add anything else to my bulging stash of creative stuff!  Anyways here it is and if your curious about what everyone else is up to pop on over to Julia’s blog and do the rounds (I have a big afternoon of browsing and drooling planned for Saturday afternoon after work).

I’ll be back tomorrow with some other news…
