A Candle of Hope & Love

I created this lovely candle for Naomi-Jon’s best friends Confirmation Ceremony this past Sunday.  It was a very early start after a very late night, and sooo worth every moment to be a part of such a momentous and beautiful occasion.

For this particular Candle I have used Prima flowers and Leaves, along with a couple of my favourite stamps.

Confirmation Candle

I love creating these candles and making each one unique, just like the person it is for.

Creating is the Best

Yes Creating is the best form of relaxation, energisation and well all round fun.  I love to create, and so do the rest of my family.  I also love to share what I create, so here is another layout that I love.

Fav Chair by Alicia Redshaw

I had so much fun creating this layout with its bright colours and loads of quirky embellishments.  I have misted and stamped the background, before double matting it onto cardstock and patterned paper.  The flowers are from Prima of course, and the photographs are of my beautiful little Naomi-Jon when she was only 3.

Scrapbooking Class @ Scrapbook Fantasies

Scrapbooking Class with Alicia Redshaw

My Scrapbooking Class this week at Scrapbook Fantasies is a single page using papers from the Kaiser Summer Breeze range to create a layout perfect for family or little girl photographs.  I have used a photograph of Naomi-Jon when she was about four years old and wrote quite a lot of journaling about her journey at the time with Eczema.  The cost is $17 which includes a kit to create the single page.  The class will only be held on Wednesday 22 May at 10am or 7pm and Saturday 25 May at 10am.  Bring along basic tools and adhesives, pinecone/brown inkpad and brown/chocolate acid free pen.

Winners – March Layout Sketch Challenge

Well aren’t I bad…and here I was yesterday going on about work/life balance and I forgot to announce the winners of my March Layout Sketch Challenge.  There are probably some Card Sketch Challenges that I haven’t drawn as well, and I will get to those at work tomorrow.

Anyway onto the winners of some lovely ribbon packs from Scrapbook Fantasies are:

Distress Watercolouring Class @ Scrapbook Fantasies

Distress Watercolouring Class

I am teaching a Distress Watercolouring Class this Monday (20 May) at Scrapbook Fantasies from 10am.  Anyone wanting to attend this class needs to either email me (aredshaw@bigpond.net.au) or ring the store (4972 2117).  The class will cost $17, which includes a kit to create a card with one of your Distress Watercoloured samples.  Please bring along basic tools and adhesives, pinecone/brown inkpad and a small paint brush.  No experience necessary!

A lot to share!

I created the layout below for my April Layout Sketch and forgot to share it.  I have to admit to doing a lot of creating that just doesn’t seem to make it onto my blog lately.  Apart from creating and teaching several classes each week, I have also been making quite a few sets of invitations.  I don’t know where I am finding the time, I just am.

I was surprised to hear recently that Julia Morris doesn’t burn up her energy trying to find a work/life balance, she just gets on with it and lives.  I am glad to hear that I’m not the only one who is of the same belief that there is no perfect balance between work and life, just priorities and meeting my own needs along the way.  I feel that as long as I am spending enough quality time with my husband and children, and of course occasionally on my own that it will all be good.  Anything that doesn’t get done probably doesn’t need to be done anyway.  I prioritise my work time and run my business my way, and it works very well.  I also do several community activities that I just fit in as needed too.  All in all I just make it work.

Whilst I am here I thought I would also announce the winners of my April Layout Sketch Challenge.  Each of these ladies will receive a lovely pack of ribbons donated by Scrapbook Fantasies.

Now onto my layout which I have created with some of the lovely Prima Fairy Rhymes range.  I have to confess that some of the leftovers from this layout were used to create the layout for my May Layout Sketch Challenge.
