Couture Creations | Seaside & Me Card featuring Hot Foiling

Hi everyone and welcome to my post today which is a card I have created using the Seaside & Me collection – with a softer more feminine feel.  To achieve this softer feminine feel to the card I have used a peach ink that tones with the beautiful papers and a simple set of embellishments that I have created with Hot Foil, Chipboard and Ephemera.

I have used foam tape to layer the elements in the embellishment cluster to add texture and dimension to the card, without making it cluttered and heavy.

I have gently distressed the edges of the papers prior to inking them to help soften the edges.

After foiling the sentiment chipboard I have coloured the letters with a brown pen and sanded the surface – once again softening the edges and helping it to co-ordinate with the rest of the card.

The flowers were left from a previous project and complimented the Seaside & Me collection without taking over or competing for the star role.

I have used the Medallion cutting die as a Hot Foil Stamp to create the background embellishment for the cluster on the card.  I use two pieces of cardstock (not thick) as shims when putting the Hot Foil Platform through my Go, Cut & Emboss Machine to help ensure that the foiling works perfectly every time.

I always audition the pieces I am using during the creative process – helping me to ensure that each piece is in the perfect place and fits the overall design.  The sentiment just didn’t work above the cluster, and had to move.

The Copper Hot Foil from the Seaside & Me Hot Foil set was the guiding influence in my choice of the edging ink colour – which I applied with a Sponge Dauber (a very well used one at that).

I did make some Pigment Powder into a watercolour solution that I used to add some shimmer to the embellishments I created, helping them to work well together.

Couture Creations | Seaside & Me Card with Hot Foiling

Hi Everyone, and welcome to my post today which is a card I have created with the soon to be released Couture Creations Seaside & Me collection.  I have used a 6×6 paper pad and Kraft A6 Cards & Envelope to create my card, along with the beautiful Silver Hot Foil that comes as a bonus when you purchase a Go, Press & Foil Machine.

I have kept my card design clean and simple to make the Silver Hot Foiling the hero.

I started by Hot Foiling the Angel Fish Hot Foil Stamp with the Silver Hot Foil onto the bottom left-hand corner of the envelope I intended to use.  You will need to use a single piece of cardstock as a shim when Hot Foiling Envelopes as they are very thin.  You will also need to make sure that as soon as you remove the envelope from the Go, Press & Foil Machine to open the envelope, or it could seal shut.

It is also essential to make sure that your envelope cools fully before removing the Hot Foil sheet.

I think that the resulting embellished envelope speaks for itself, however I am a super fan of Hot Foiling with the Go, Press & Foil Machine.

My next experimental technique with the Go, Press & Foil Machine that I love using to create that extra Pop of Foil on my projects is diecutting a shape from cardstock or patterned paper (as in this case) and then Hot Foiling it with some texture.  For this card I have used the Seaside & Me Branching Coral cutting die and the Swirling Seas Hot Foil Stamp with the Silver Hot Foil that comes with the Go, Press & Foil Machine.

I find that Die-cutting prior to Hot Foiling gives a cleaner and less damaged finished embellishment.  As I have used patterned paper to cut the Branching Coral I have once again used a single piece of cardstock as a shim – adding the bonus of a slight emboss to the finished design.

I have also used the Go, Press & Foil Machine to apply the Silver Hot Foil to the chipboard banner words (which I then distressed) and another Angel Fish on patterned paper (which I also fussy-cut and matted before raising on foam tape).  I have also used some of another A6 Kraft Card that I had previously cut apart with the Scaley Embossing Folder on the front of my card.

Below I am going to share some linked images of the products I have used….

Couture Creations | Foamiran Flower Card with Bonus Video

Hi Everyone, and welcome to my post today which is a card that has a Foamiran Flower on it, and as a bonus I have created a video showing how I have created this flower.  My video is a warts-and-all affair where I show how I use imperfect and torn flower layers.

I have used two cream cardbases in the creation of my card – one for the base and the other has been used for the embossed layers and the Hot Foiled Sentiment.  I have also incorporated a Cut, Foil & Emboss Feather from the new Nouveau collection in my card.

The Hot Foil colour I have used is the new Pale Gold Mirror finish from the new release Hot Foil colours range.  And yes I have fussy-cut around the Hot Foiled ‘Celebrate’ Sentiment and then raised it from the surface of my card using tiny pieces of Foam Tape.

I share in my video how I alter brads to use as Flower centres that co-ordinate with my projects – so I never have the wrong colour flower centres because I make them co-ordinate with this technique.

I also share in my video that there is no shame in using some strategically placed glue to dictate how a flower sits on a project.

So without further discussion here is my Foamiran Flower Tutorial video, which you can also find on YouTube——>here.

Well I guess that is it for me today, except to share some linked images of the products I have used….
