Couture Creations DT Reveal | Highland Christmas Twisted Easel Card

Hi and welcome to my post today which is a Twisted Easel Card I have created with the new Highland Christmas collection designed by Sue Smyth.  I have also created a pair of Foamiran Flowers especially for this card, on which I have edged the petals with Red Glitzin Glamour Glitter Glue.

I started my card by folding the cardbase in half on the fold line and then folding the front inwards in half diagonally so that the bottom right corner meets the top of the centrefold.  I then layered the sections using the Highland Christmas patterned papers – being sure to fussy-cut around the cottage.

Cutting instructions:

  • Easel Base – Red Tartan – 5”x5” – cut diagonally
  • Easel Feature – Scene – 4¾”x4¾” – cut diagonally fussy-cut around cottage
  • Base Square – Red Tartan – 5⅛”x5⅛”
  • Base Triangles – Scene and Snowflakes – 4⅞”x4⅞” – cut diagonally
  • Back of Easel – Snowflakes – 5”x5” – cut diagonally

The bow tucked under the Foamiran Flowers is fussy-cut from patterned paper and stuck in place with the rest of the elements in the floral cluster with the Helmar 450 Glue.  I did hold the elements in place for a minute or two to make sure they stayed together nice and tight.

The front triangle on the bottom layer holds the Easel in position, which is achieved with the help of Foam Tape.

Couture Creations products I have used:

  • CO726275 Highland Christmas 12×12 Doublesided Paper #2
  • CO726281 Highland Christmas 12×12 Doublesided Paper #8

Couture Creations | Foamiran Flower Card with Bonus Video

Hi Everyone, and welcome to my post today which is a card that has a Foamiran Flower on it, and as a bonus I have created a video showing how I have created this flower.  My video is a warts-and-all affair where I show how I use imperfect and torn flower layers.

I have used two cream cardbases in the creation of my card – one for the base and the other has been used for the embossed layers and the Hot Foiled Sentiment.  I have also incorporated a Cut, Foil & Emboss Feather from the new Nouveau collection in my card.

The Hot Foil colour I have used is the new Pale Gold Mirror finish from the new release Hot Foil colours range.  And yes I have fussy-cut around the Hot Foiled ‘Celebrate’ Sentiment and then raised it from the surface of my card using tiny pieces of Foam Tape.

I share in my video how I alter brads to use as Flower centres that co-ordinate with my projects – so I never have the wrong colour flower centres because I make them co-ordinate with this technique.

I also share in my video that there is no shame in using some strategically placed glue to dictate how a flower sits on a project.

So without further discussion here is my Foamiran Flower Tutorial video, which you can also find on YouTube——>here.

Well I guess that is it for me today, except to share some linked images of the products I have used….

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day

Couture Creations | Foamiran Flowers Scrapbook Layout

Hi Everyone, and welcome to my post today which is a layout I have created with a photograph from Milton’s Prom using just two colours – white and silver.  I have used the new Couture Creations Foamiran to create the cluster of flowers and an Amazing Hot Foil Stamp on Silver cardstock for the title.

I started my layout by mixing White Gesso and Silver Grey Pigment Powder with water to create a silver flicking liquid, which I also used with a sponge dauber to edge the background and colour the centres of the Foamiran flowers.

The Hot Foil Stamp and the beautiful Hot Foil I have used are both new release products.  Like all of the other feature products I have used on my layout I have images and links at the end of this post, along with a process video that my wonderful son Milton helped me to edit (it was originally three hours long).

I have used two shades/textures of the metallic silver cardstock as the layout was very flat with a single shade/texture – a handy trick when using a limited palette on a card or layout.

As I mentioned earlier I have a process video to share, and I hope you enjoy this peak into my creative process.  Please note that I will be sharing several videos dedicated to creating with Foamiran, as the process is highly edited in this process video.

Well I guess that is it for me today, except to share some linked images of the products I have used….
