Couture Creations | Hot Foiled Patchwork Scrapbook Layout

Hi Everyone, and welcome to my post today which is a layout I have created using Embossing Folders and Hot Foil combined.  Collette Mitrega has a wonderful tutorial video on the Couture Creations Blog explaining how to using Embossing Folders with the GoPress & Foil machine ——> here.

I started by cutting all of the layers for my layout – and don’t forget that if you can’t see it then it may not be there.  Meaning that I have cut the middle out of the pink and white cardstock layers that are behind my main white cardstock background.  Once I had cut what I needed I cut my scraps down and proceeded to Hot Foil various co-ordinating colours of Foil with four of my favourite embossing folders (listed below).

Whilst I had my GoPress & Foil Machine going I used it to foil the Chipboard title which is from the recently released C’est la Vie Couture Creations collection.  To unify all of the layers, embellishments and foiled squares I have inked everything with a lilac ink and a sponge dauber.

The Hot Foiled squares are all 1.5″x1.5″ with even gaps all around – that I have eyeballed because I didn’t want to have pencil marks on my layout that needed to be removed.  I know that the Hot Foiling isn’t perfect on every square, however I am happy with this as it brings a lovely softness to the layout.

I had some scraps leftover from my layout and have used them to create a bonus Mothers Day Card using another chipboard title from the C’est la Vie collection.  I will share this card with you later in the month.

Well I guess that is it for me today, except to share some linked images of the products I have used….

Couture Creations | Foamiran Flowers Scrapbook Layout

Hi Everyone, and welcome to my post today which is a layout I have created with a photograph from Milton’s Prom using just two colours – white and silver.  I have used the new Couture Creations Foamiran to create the cluster of flowers and an Amazing Hot Foil Stamp on Silver cardstock for the title.

I started my layout by mixing White Gesso and Silver Grey Pigment Powder with water to create a silver flicking liquid, which I also used with a sponge dauber to edge the background and colour the centres of the Foamiran flowers.

The Hot Foil Stamp and the beautiful Hot Foil I have used are both new release products.  Like all of the other feature products I have used on my layout I have images and links at the end of this post, along with a process video that my wonderful son Milton helped me to edit (it was originally three hours long).

I have used two shades/textures of the metallic silver cardstock as the layout was very flat with a single shade/texture – a handy trick when using a limited palette on a card or layout.

As I mentioned earlier I have a process video to share, and I hope you enjoy this peak into my creative process.  Please note that I will be sharing several videos dedicated to creating with Foamiran, as the process is highly edited in this process video.

Well I guess that is it for me today, except to share some linked images of the products I have used….

Couture Creations | Faux Painted Embossed Background Scrapbook Layout

Hi Everyone, and welcome to my post today which is the layout I created with the background from my Tuesday Tip post last month.

If you missed what the background looked like before I cut and embellished it, here it is.

I have diecut the L’Aquarelle Butterfly from a cardstock scrap with Diecut’N Bond on the front, which I have then covered with Turquoise Super Sparkle Embossing Powder before melting it with the Heat Tool.

I have used my Go, Press & Foil machine to apply the word Celebrate and it’s little banner to a scrap of white cardstock, before fussy-cutting them and embellishing the banner with silver glitter.  It is always best to Hot Foil the smooth side of textured cardstocks as it is difficult for the foil to adhere in any cardstock grooves.

I have put together a little video showing how I have created the internal border on my layout, matted my photograph and then adhered the background layers together with a minimum of heartache.

Products I have used: CO721964 Foam Mounting Tape – 12mm x 4m | CO721985 Double Sided Tape – 6mm x 50m | CO723817 3D Glue Spots (½” x 1/8” x 75 pieces) | CO724824 Go Cut & Emboss Machine | CO725032 Go Press & Foil Machine | CO723973 Paper Trimmer | CO724917 Be Merry & Classic Glitter Assortment (3 vials) – Silver | CO725159 Precision Stainless Steel Scissors | CO723623 Sponge Daubers (6pcs) | CS11215 Dimensional Magic | CO725034 Hot Foil Set – Foil Me 5 pack (pink) | ULT158102 Hotfoil Stamp – Sweet Sentiments – Celebrate Bunting (1pc) | ULT157786 L’Aquarelle Designs – Widespread Butterfly Decorative Die | ULT157644 Diecut’N Bond (25m x 12cm – 82ft x 4.72in) | ULT200001 Cardstock – 12×12 – Snow White (250gsm) | ULT200071 Cardstock – 12×12 – Bubblegum | ULT200081 Cardstock – 12×12 – VervainCO724037 2-way Glue Pen – Jumbo tip (35g) | CO723978 Multi-Purpose Heat Tool | CO725003 Emboss Powder – Pastels – Super Fine – Pastel Lilac with Holographic Silver Glitters | CO725002 Emboss Powder – Pastels – Super Fine – Pastel Pink with Holographic Silver Glitters | CO724996 Emboss Powder – Brights – Super Fine – Candy Razzberry | CO724997 Emboss Powder – Brights – Super Fine – Candy Aqua | CO724993 Emboss Powder – Super Sparkles – Super Fine – Turquoise | CO724293A Flowers – Tie Dyed & Jewelled Florettes (3cm) – 20 pieces

Couture Creations | Cést la Vie | Life is Beautiful Layout

Hi Everyone, and welcome to my post today which is another layout I have created with the fabulous Couture Creations C’est la Vie collection.  I have kept this layout very simple and mostly used scraps from other layouts and cards I have created with this collection.

I started my layout by freehand cutting a heart template from the cover of the 6″x6″ paper pad from the C’est la Vie collection.  The cardstock that the cover is made from is thicker and glossier than other cardstocks, making it perfect for creating a template that will last for many uses and wet media products.

I then used a matching ink with a sponge dauber and the Intertwined Stencil over the handmade heart template.

I love how this technique creates a heart in the background that supports the other layout elements without stealing the show from the photograph and journaling.

To finish my layout I created a layered photo-mat from patterned papers, and a journaling block with Hot Foiled Chipboard and a patterned paper scrap.

A select few simple embellishments completed the layered look of the layout without adding unnecessary clutter and fuss.

I applied Dimensional Magic to the fussy-cut Butterfly which I then sprinkled with the lovely Be Merry White Glitter that I love to use in most of my projects.  I actually don’t think I have a single butterfly left in either of my C’est la Vie paper pads as they are a beautiful way to finish a layout or card.

Well I guess that is it for me today, except to share a list of the products I have used…..
