Couture Creations | Seaside & Me Scrapbook Layout featuring Hot Foiling

Hi everyone and welcome to my post today which is a layout I have created for you along with a process video that will give you an insight into how I create my layouts.  This layout is very clean and simple, allowing the photograph to be the star of the show.  This particular photograph is of me when I was a teenager fishing with some friends on the Boyne River.

I started my layout by cutting paper for the layers and working out which pieces from the Ephemera set I wanted to use.  I have cut the borders from the shell and coral Ephemera pieces prior to inking them.  My process video actually starts after this when I painted White Acrylic Gesso onto the background paper, mostly to save you watching me for a whole day.

I have used scissors to distress the paper edges before inking them with a sponge dauber and brown ink.  Fussy-cutting titles I have Hot Foiled is one of my favourite layout embellishments at the moment, especially when they are inked and raised on foam mounting tape.

I have used two different types of Glue Dots to attach the flower and charm, making them into easy to apply stickers.  The Seaside & Me Ephemera set is actually printed on similar paper to the patterned papers in the collection, so they blend beautifully with the patterned papers – and can be inked cut and foiled as well.

As mentioned I also created a process video whilst I put my layout together, in which you will occasionally see a little hand with a pink sleeve (Amelia-Ann) off to the right helping Mummy to create…..

Couture Creations | Sea Breeze Scrapbook Layout

Welcome to my post today which is a simple and elegant layout I have created with the Sea Breeze collection.  The Sea Breeze collection of papers and embellishments are timeless and still remain popular even though they were released some time ago.

This design would also look just as stunning created with either the C’est la Vie or soon to be released Seaside & Me collections.

I have blended some turquoise ink over the edges of the Hot Foiled and fussy-cut title – which I have created with a piece of patterned paper and deliberately taken from the Go Press & Foil early so that it had a softer finish that didn’t compete with the photograph.

Many of the Couture Creations collections have coordinating embellishments and charms which are perfect for tucking into a cluster of flowers and ribbons.

The strips along the top of my layout are 5.75″x1.5″ and are cut from the Seabreeze 6×6 paper pad.  The thin strip of paper along the bottom of these strips is the barcode from the background patterned paper.  The strips are stuck 1″ from the top of the layout and the photograph has been double-matted with patterned papers from the same paper pad.

Couture Creations | C’est la Vie Scrapbook Layout featuring Nouveau Dies and Hot Foiling

Welcome to my post today which is a layout and process video I created with the Couture Creations C’est la Vie collection and some Hot Foiling.  I have used a full sheet of paper for the background and lots of scraps to make up the rest of the layout.

I used the Nouveau collection Bodice Cut, Foil and Emboss die with pink Hot Foil and a Metal Trinket to finish the left-hand embellishment cluster.

I have also Hot Foiled the chipboard title and flowers with the same pink foil and the Go, Press & Foil Machine.

Really this layout is very simple to re-create as it uses minimal paper and embellishments, allowing the photograph and Hot Foiling to be the superstars.

Couture Creations | Seaside & Me Treasures Scrapbook Layout with Bonus Sketch

Hi Everyone, and welcome to my post today which is a layout I have created with the new release Couture Creations Seaside & Me collection.  I have used a 6×6 paper pad to create my layout, along with three shades of cardstock and some Hot Foiled Chipboard from the Seaside & Me collection.

To unify the layers and elements on my layout I have distressed and inked all of the edges.  After layering my background pieces I have mixed the Pigment Powder with Acrylic Gesso and some water and flicked it over the background with a fan brush.

I used a sander to slightly scuff the Hot Foiled Chipboard pieces before adding some ink with a sponge dauber – helping these elements to unify with the other distress page elements.

The Seaside & Me paper pad includes some fun elements and images that are perfect for fussy-cutting and adding to projects with foam tape.

As a Bonus today I have created a sketch of my layout, and would love to see what you create with it too…..

Well I guess that is it for me today, except to share some linked images of the products I have used….

Couture Creations | Hot Foiled Patchwork Scrapbook Layout

Hi Everyone, and welcome to my post today which is a layout I have created using Embossing Folders and Hot Foil combined.  Collette Mitrega has a wonderful tutorial video on the Couture Creations Blog explaining how to using Embossing Folders with the GoPress & Foil machine ——> here.

I started by cutting all of the layers for my layout – and don’t forget that if you can’t see it then it may not be there.  Meaning that I have cut the middle out of the pink and white cardstock layers that are behind my main white cardstock background.  Once I had cut what I needed I cut my scraps down and proceeded to Hot Foil various co-ordinating colours of Foil with four of my favourite embossing folders (listed below).

Whilst I had my GoPress & Foil Machine going I used it to foil the Chipboard title which is from the recently released C’est la Vie Couture Creations collection.  To unify all of the layers, embellishments and foiled squares I have inked everything with a lilac ink and a sponge dauber.

The Hot Foiled squares are all 1.5″x1.5″ with even gaps all around – that I have eyeballed because I didn’t want to have pencil marks on my layout that needed to be removed.  I know that the Hot Foiling isn’t perfect on every square, however I am happy with this as it brings a lovely softness to the layout.

I had some scraps leftover from my layout and have used them to create a bonus Mothers Day Card using another chipboard title from the C’est la Vie collection.  I will share this card with you later in the month.

Well I guess that is it for me today, except to share some linked images of the products I have used….
