123 Challenge – April 2017 –

Hello and welcome to April, which means that a quarter of the year has already passed us by – and we are finally getting a reprieve from the hot summer weather here in Central Queensland, well only a couple of degrees so far but it is a start.

A new month means a new Challenge at the 123 Challenge Blog, which I really enjoyed creating with.  And not just because it is my challenge either….

I chose to create my layout with the brand new release Kaisercraft High Tea collection, which lent towards some serious fussy cutting and beautiful floral layers.

The challenge criteria is to use the colour Pink (easy with two girls), the word “Beautiful” (which happened to be on the matching sticker sheet) and Hearts (also easy with two girls).

I have used a photograph of Naomi-Jon, which as always shows how similar my girls are in appearance – so much so that Amelia-Ann won’t try to guess who a photograph is of anymore.

So now that is it from me for the time being, and it is over to you to create with this beautiful challenge at the 123 Challenge Blog:

Magnolia Lane Collection –

I thought I might pop in tonight to share with you a layout I completed recently using the Magnolia Lane Collection designed by Sue Smyth.

I had started this layout quite a while ago, however I seemed to have stopped after doing loads of fussy cutting, writing the journaling and matting the photograph.

I don’t really know why I stopped, must have been really busy – what a surprise…really it is because I don’t usually go onto the next card or layout unless I have finished the previous one.  Except one particularly troublesome six page spread I started about 10 years ago that has already consumed dozens of hours in hand-stitching and has multiple flip books on the pages.

So that is my Magnolia Lane layout, which I am very happy with – if I do say so myself.

Happy Creating and have a wonderful day

More Than Words Challenge – March 2017 – BeYoutiful

I am back to share my interpretation of the More than Words Challenge for this month, which somehow reminded me of the beautiful L’Aquarelle papers and embellishments I had sitting on my desk.

The Challenge is to use the word Beautiful with a Butterfly (or Butterflies) and I knew just the photograph I would use – yes another one of my oldest daughter Naomi-Jon who has always been beautiful on both the inside and the outside.

A few layers, some fussy cutting, glitter, mist and die-cutting complete my layout – which I just love.  I especially like how I could combine purples, teals and peach in such a harmonious way with the help of awesome papers and embellishments.

You only have couple of days to go if you are going to enter the More than Words Challenge for March – plenty of time if you set your mind to it…..

Kaisercraft Challenge – March 2017 – Beautiful

I decided to have a go at the Kaiser Sketch Challenge this month, especially as I had already started fussy cutting some flowers and butterflies from the new Kaisercraft Wildflower patterned papers.

I have rotated the sketch 180 degrees and flipped it, so that it looks a bit like this.  My photographs of Naomi-Jon and the resist title I wanted to use were the dictating factors for my design.

I love all of the colours in this awesome collection that has some lovely watercolour effect papers, lots of flowers and the most beautiful butterflies.

I have used Glossy Accents on the Beautiful diecut and the Princess word I have cut from the patterned paper, to mimic the resist title I have cut from one of the specialty papers from the range.

Naomi-Jon and Milton had been to the Mt Larcom Show on this particular day with their Grandma and Great-Uncle, and they definitely had a wonderful time.

You only have just over four days to go if you are going to enter the Kaisercraft Sketch Challenge for March – plenty of time if you set your mind to it…..

Watercolour Stars Layout

I have created this layout using a photograph of Noah and some of my favourite Cocoa Vanilla Studio products.  The stars in the background were created with a Kaisercraft Stencil, a black multi-liner and Watercolour pencils from Prima.

Rambling Rose Collection – Happiness

The new Rambling Rose collection designed by Sue Smyth for Ultimate Crafts is instore and online at Scrapbook Fantasies.  The collection includes awesome papers for fussy cutting, as well as cutting dies, embellishments and embossing folders.

I couldn’t resist creating with the beautiful papers and stamps from one of my favourite new collections for 2017.

I have hand cut all of the frames, leaves and roses, and it didn’t take as long as you may think.

The stamped quote I have used actually comes in a set with the most beautiful scalloped circle, which I just couldn’t fit into my design this time.

I have used a few of the photographs from our Wedding in 1995 that haven’t quite made it into our albums yet.  And boy we were young….
